The Pink Pony Campaign is Ralph Lauren Corporation’s worldwide initiative in the fight against cancer, supporting programs for screening, early diagnosis, treatment, education, and patient navigation. Since 2000, Pink Pony’s mission has been to reduce disparities in cancer care and ensure that access to quality treatment is available to everyone at an earlier, more curable stage.
The Pink Pony Collection
The 2018 Pink Pony collection is composed of an expanded assortment of refreshed icons, statement pieces, and accessories for men, women, and children, all done in a new and fresh light pink. The collection is anchored by the new “Live Love” graphic tee and 100 percent of the purchase price from the sale of each tee in the light pink colorway will be donated to the Pink Pony Fund of The Polo Ralph Lauren Foundation, or to an international network of cancer charities.
The women’s collection celebrates Polo classics such as Polo shirts and rugbys; fleece crewnecks and hoodies with updated graphics and details; and cable-knit, cricket, and flag sweaters. Standout pieces include a stadium jacket with an intricate New York City–inspired embroidered back and a fresh light pink moto-inspired leather jacket. The men’s and children’s collections include classic Polo shirts and rugbys, fleece hoodies, and sweaters—all updated in the new light pink colorway.
A fresh customization program offers varsity-inspired patch options and Pink Pony graphics on classic Polo shirts and tees, a light pink denim jacket, or a camo-print army jacket.
Accessories round out the collection and include a classic cabled wool-cashmere hat, a camo-print scarf and baseball cap, canvas totes and pouches with letterman-inspired patches, and a playful charm bracelet.
Globally, 25 percent of the purchase price from the sale of each item in the Pink Pony collection is directed to an international network of cancer charities; within the United States, proceeds benefit the Pink Pony Fund of The Polo Ralph Lauren Foundation.
The Pink Pony collection is available globally in select Ralph Lauren retail stores, on ralphlauren.com, at Macy’s, and in select global wholesale stores beginning in September.
Ralph Lauren’s Commitment to Cancer Care
For nearly 30 years, Ralph Lauren has been committed to raising awareness in the fight against cancer. In 1989, after his close friend and Washington Post fashion editor Nina Hyde was diagnosed with breast cancer, Mr. Lauren made a commitment to focus his philanthropic efforts on improving care for this devastating disease by cofounding the Nina Hyde Center for Breast Cancer Research at the Georgetown University Medical Center. In 1994, he led the fashion industry in its support of breast cancer research by designing the first target logo for the Council of Fashion Designers of America’s Fashion Targets Breast Cancer initiative, which focuses on raising public awareness and funds for the breast cancer cause.
In 2003, the Ralph Lauren Center for Cancer Care was established in partnership with the nation’s leading cancer center, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, in New York City, to provide high-quality, compassionate cancer screening, diagnosis, and treatment to all—regardless of personal circumstances. In 2014, Ralph Lauren Corporation partnered with The Royal Marsden, the largest and most comprehensive cancer center in Europe, to develop a world-class breast cancer research facility. Together with the Duke of Cambridge, Ralph Lauren Corporation opened The Royal Marsden Ralph Lauren Center for Breast Cancer Research in May 2016. This year marks a landmark occasion, with $1million being raised for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity through donations at point of sale. This is in addition to the annual campaign where a percentage from sales of the Pink Pony Collection is donated to charities around the world.
